Tournament Formats

There are three competition formats that we currently use for tournaments

Individual Low Net – The Tournament Director will collect $20 from each group lead at check-in. Each group lead will collect $5 from each person in their designated foursome.  The prize money is awarded to three handicap flights (A, B & C) as indicated on the team sheet.  Each flight is awarded prize money payable to the 5 lowest net scores and ties.

Skins – The Tournament Director selects certain times when a skins format will be used in the tournament.  The cost is an additional $5, which is an individual decision (optional) if a member wants to play in the skins game format.

Fifth Thursday Director’s choice – For the month’s that have a fifth Thursday, the Tournament Director will choose a format at their discretion or at the recommendation of a member.  Past options have been Scramble, Adjusted Dropout Scramble, Choker Shamble, etc.  Rules of the format will be available prior to the tournament.

Team Low Net – The team score will be the sum of the three lowest individual net scores by hole. Awards are given to the five teams (and ties) with the lowest total scores.

Team (Note: this format had been temporarily suspended due to the number of teams) – The full team play format means your four/five person team uses your three players’ low net scores to arrive at a team score.  You compete against all other teams in the tournament and collect $1 per person from the teams you defeat, and pay $1 per person to all teams who defeat you. All team members must settle all team bets before they leave the golf course.  If there are too many teams, the tournament will be divided into two tournaments, Sunrise and Sunset.
