Inclement Weather Policy

 Inclement Weather (Rain/Lightning) Policy

Los Verdes Seniors Golf Club (LVSGC) Members,

The LVSGC guidance for Inclement Weather Policy is implementing the following:

  1. The Los Verdes Golf Course (LVGC) staff have determined that the golf course will be open with the exception of lightning in the local golf course area or adverse course conditions i.e. flooding. Due to the good drainage of the course it is almost always open during rainy conditions.For direct confirmation on course availability due to rain please contact Los Verdes Golf Course directly at 310-377-7370. Please add this contact info to your mobile devices.

  2. Regardless of weather conditions PLEASE contact us via e-mail or text us if you are not going to play, even on the day of the event. Please do not assume we will figure it out (if you just don’t show).

  3. The Tournament Directors will Implement the Inclement Weather Policy and will notify membership of that decision via e-mail prior to the day of the event.

  4. If it is raining on the day of the event we propose to cancel that days tournament and help coordinate with LVGC and our Membership to allow those who still want to play for the joy of the game.

    a. Once we know how many will be playing we will hold the appropriate number of tee times and give up the excess TEE times reserved.

    b. This is why we are asking for the courtesy of informing us if you will not be playing.

  5. The $20 cancelation fee will be waived for all who contact us prior to 8:30 AM on the day of the event. All others will be charged the $20 cancelation fee and will not be eligible to play until the fee has been received. Payment may be made at the next tournament. Coordination for this payment is the member’s responsibility.

  6. We are committed to assist those who will want to play and will be at LVGC by 8:15.

  7. We have been informed by LVGC that they will not hold us (LVSGC) liable for canceled reservations.

  8. The Interim Inclement Weather Policy was addressed at the LVSGC Board Meeting on 5/23/17 and approved.
